A work environment where inclusion is a “priority” not a distant wish. This would describe Lansing-based Public Sector Consultants, a nonpartisan research and consulting firm that has served thousands of government agencies, nonprofits and private businesses. That mindset contributed to the company landing the No. 3 spot, small company category, in the Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces program.

When informed that PSC was among the best in Top Workplaces in the state, the firm’s CEO, Julie Metty Bennett, praised her team for finding a way to exceed client’s expectations during a hectic political and public policy season, which was further complicated by the coronavirus.

During the conversation, Metty Bennett also proudly referenced a date roughly a year ago when her now 41-year-old nonpartisan public policy research consultancy became a 100% female-owned business.
