The opportunity to attend a sleepaway wilderness camp in northern Ontario proved to be much more than simply following in her mom’s footsteps—Julia became a full-fledged environmentalist. She gained a deep appreciation of the outdoors, a foundational understanding of the substantial impacts of the climate crisis, and the dedication to take care of the planet and people. She was always the first one ready for backpacking trips and eager to help her fellow campers efficiently pack. She talked her way through miles hiking along Lake Superior, often pausing to note the gorgeous scenery. Julia’s social and community-oriented mindset have expanded widely since those early camping trips, making her an excellent addition to the Michigan Saves team.

At PSC, Julia is the special projects manager for Michigan Saves, a multimillion‐dollar nonprofit green bank that assists state residents in securing financing solutions for energy updates to their home or business. She leads the community-focused outreach and engagement strategy and manages short-term projects. Her role involves collaborating with diverse stakeholders, coordinating community engagement efforts, and ensuring the successful execution of projects that promote clean energy, sustainability, and healthy homes.

Julia is proud to have served as a Michigan Healthy Climate Corps member at Michigan Saves prior to her employment. She has held previous program management roles and started developing her community organizing skills at Jewish nonprofits, including Yad Ezra and Adamah.
