From an early age, Katie has always been a planner. She would beg her mom to take her to the local AAA office so she could raid their rack of free brochures and guidebooks. She would use these resources to meticulously plan family vacations—plotting the route, picking the restaurants, selecting the hotels where they would stay, and determining which attractions they would visit. Her family usually didn’t take these trips, but Katie loved every minute of the planning process: organizing, making lists, and plotting every tiny detail.
At PSC, Katie uses her love of planning and organization to keep the Michigan Saves Outreach Team running smoothly. Michigan Saves is a nonprofit organization managed by PSC that offers financing solutions for energy efficiency and renewable energy improvements in homes, businesses, and public institutions statewide. As a customer service representative, when people reach out to Michigan Saves she is usually the first person they encounter. Being organized and prepared helps her anticipate customers’ needs and problem solve with contractors. She combines her attention to detail with an affinity for teamwork to provide high-level administrative support to the Outreach Team.
Prior to joining PSC, Katie was a program coordinator for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southeastern Michigan. At the Orion/Oxford Club, she developed and implemented after-school and summer programs and activities for youth from six to 18 years old. She also served as a substitute elementary building secretary for Oxford Community Schools.
