A little luck and a touch of serendipity compelled Tim to seek ways to connect mission to his work to lead a more impactful life. A unique consulting project and a chance encounter with a returned volunteer inspired him to leave consulting to work for the U.S. Peace Corps at improving financial outcomes for Guatemala’s coffee farmers, cooperatives, and community banks—where mission and work were inextricably linked. Although the roles, organizations, and industries served have changed over time, Tim’s connection to mission and impact remains as strong as ever.
At PSC, Tim is the chief financial officer and vice president of investments for Michigan Saves, the nation’s first nonprofit green bank. He leads Michigan Saves’ financial and investment strategy as well as compliance and risk management for its lending activities. His arrival at PSC caps a circuitous and fortuitous journey that began alongside Michigan Saves and Michigan’s clean energy transition over 15 years ago—improving opportunities and optimizing clean energy outcomes for people, businesses, utilities, and governments all along the way.
Tim is a seasoned finance and operations executive with over 20 years of experience in clean energy, client services, and real estate and construction. Prior to PSC, he was COO and CFO for Resource Innovations, an energy efficiency implementation services firm; CFO for Harvest Solar, a regional commercial and industrial and utility-scale solar company; and held various senior leadership roles across finance and operations at CLEAResult, an energy and sustainability consultancy. He has led teams both large and small in areas such as products, solutions, and innovation; national, regional, and local client delivery of implementation services; as well as corporate and operational finance. Tim is also deeply experienced in working with a myriad of stakeholders, including boards, private equity sponsors, and lending institutions.
