From her very first news article in high school on police brutality, Gena has devoted herself to finding and sharing the stories of those who may not have a voice. She’s driven to find the right descriptive words and capture the precise camera angle to convey the complete story, because she’s lifting up the stories and concerns of those in her community.

Gena brings the creativity and attentiveness to detail she honed as a journalist to PSC, where she serves as the executive assistant of the marketing and communications team. In this role, she organizes calendars, schedules and arranges meetings, and provides administrative support for her team members to help bring diverse groups together to solve real-world issues.

Gena comes to PSC from a news station, where she worked as a multimedia journalist. In this role, she wrote, shot, and edited breaking news stories in Mid-Michigan including higher education, reproductive rights, the 2022 election season, and the marijuana industry.
