LANSING, Mich. – Public Sector Consultants, a nonpartisan public policy consulting firm, is deepening its expertise with the addition of Lauren Branneman as director of data science and economics and Wendy Larvick as director of education.

Branneman comes to PSC from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, where she led the research team and provided data-driven insights for program and policy development. At PSC, Branneman will lead the firm’s economic research and data analytics team, who apply quantitative and qualitative analytical methods to answer questions related to the potential impact of policy, economic development and industry changes in the economy.

“Lauren’s background in research, economic modeling, and data analysis will enhance our work across all policy topic areas” said Kelly Rogers, vice president at PSC. “Her expertise will help our clients develop evidence-based solutions that drive growth and foster meaningful, data-informed public policy. It will also help them understand the economic impact of their efforts. Given the number of economic impact assessments PSC does, adding Lauren really bolsters our ability to meet the demand for these types of services.”

Larvick’s long history of shaping education policy in Michigan includes serving as a policy advisor in the state legislature and leadership roles within the Michigan Department of Education. She most recently worked as the director of policy and partnerships at the National Charter School Institute. Clients will benefit from her strong relationships and her public policy expertise on K-12 issues like educator preparation, the school aid budget and developing standards that ensure students receive quality education.

“PSC has been at the forefront of advancing education policy in Michigan for 45 years,” said Maggie Pallone, senior vice president at PSC. “Wendy’s in-depth understanding of how education policy plays out in classrooms, government and the nonprofit world will help us keep moving Michigan toward a system that better serves every student. We are excited to have Wendy join the team and continue our work on the Michigan Education Guarantee and the other education recommendations with the Growing Michigan Together Council.”
