Misty Elliott

Director, Marketing and Communications

Misty grew up on a family farm in rural Michigan where stories seemed to grow as naturally as the crops. Perched beside her grandpa on the fender of his tractor making up stories, her imagination ran wild alongside the steady hum of the engine. As seasons of life changed, Misty sensed her own story needed a broader landscape. She traded her small-town backdrop for city skylines and, eventually, far-off countries, gathering tales and new perspectives as she went. Living abroad, she discovered that every person carries a story, and that these shared narratives have the power to knit communities together, dissolve boundaries, and create a sense of belonging no matter where you stand.

That young storyteller evolved into a critical-thinking communications strategist who blends storytelling and strategy to help organizations capture attention in fast-changing fields. As PSC’s director of marketing and communications, Misty oversees complex projects and events for the firm and its clients, leads print and digital campaigns, manages the editing and design team, and takes charge of anything and everything brand related. She’s happiest when she is crafting compelling messages that move people to think deeply and talk openly.

Misty comes to PSC from state government, where her award-winning work for the Michigan State Housing Development Authority reached hundreds of thousands of people across print, digital and video platforms. Prior to that she worked in the nonprofit sector for a decade with growing responsibilities in all things marketing and communications.
