Lansing, MI — Public Sector Consultants has named Kevin Bain as the firm’s new chief financial officer.
This senior executive role blends PSC’s financial leadership with strategic oversight of green banks and other finance-related projects. Bain will be responsible for ensuring the financial health and sustainability of PSC while also overseeing the deployment, management and impact of capital through the green bank entities the firm supports nationwide.
“With a strong foundation in finance and investment strategy, Kevin approaches complex financial challenges with determination and a vision for long-term impact,” said Rachel Kuntzsch, president of PSC. “His expert guidance is helping clean energy financing become a reality for communities across Michigan and the nation. I am confident he’ll apply that same leadership to the management of PSC’s finances.”
Bain was the director of strategy in the City of Detroit’s finance department before joining PSC as a senior strategist. His experience and network in the city are contributing to the firm’s growing presence in Detroit.
His work at PSC has focused on client work related to green banks and project finance. This past year, Bain brought his expertise in climate finance to established green bank clients in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Washington, and to communities across the country interested in building green bank initiatives.
Bain previously worked as an investment banker on Wall Street. He received his Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School and then worked across five continents with the World Bank, focusing on climate finance.
