Dan Lord

Director, Environment and Natural Resources

From growing up on the basketball courts in Flint, Dan has always thrived in a team environment working toward a common goal. Over time, those team experiences moved from the hardwood to the great outdoors as his passions grew into exploring Michigan and North America by hiking, biking, paddling, and snowboarding with friends and family. This lifelong engagement with the environment and natural resources is what drives him personally and professionally.

At PSC, Dan works alongside colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to develop actionable policy solutions for Michigan’s environment, infrastructure, and natural resources. An analytical thinker and collaborative strategist, he excels at evaluating complex situations and traditional models to craft fresh, innovative solutions. He takes pride in the deep relationships he has built across Michigan’s environmental, natural resources, and recreational stakeholder networks, believing that genuine partnerships are key to solving public challenges.

Dan came to PSC from state government, where he served as the chief of finance and operations for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. Throughout his career, he has spearheaded innovative and collaborative initiatives that uniquely leveraged funding and expanded partner relationships to benefit Michigan’s communities.
