“Where did he learn that song?” a stranger asked Robert’s parents after six-year-old Robert began singing Aretha Franklin’s “Respect” in the middle of a Kmart in Battle Creek, Michigan. The short answer? His dad. The longer answer? Countless hours immersed in Motown classics and oldies fueled a childhood passion for music that began early and grew stronger over time. Because his small village school lacked a music program, Robert taught himself everything he knows, discovering early on that if an opportunity wasn’t available, he could create one for himself. This formative experience shaped far more than his love of music—it instilled a mindset of curiosity, determination, and creative problem-solving that continues to influence his current work in administration.
As a member of the administration team at PSC, Robert puts those traits to work every day, keeping calendars on track, coordinating complex schedules, and serving as a reliable resource for colleagues throughout the organization. He strives to be the person others think of when they ask, “Who might know the answer to this?”
Drawing on 12 years of workforce development experience—having served as an administrative and executive assistant with Peckham and Capital Area Michigan Works!—Robert brings extensive organizational expertise and award-winning customer service to his role at PSC.
