Ruthie Sudderth

Senior Strategist, Health and Human Services

Staring down a breakaway in double overtime during a championship game, more than once, means that Ruthie has never shied away from high-stakes challenges. Whether it was during her years on the ice as a hockey goalie or in her career helping hospitals navigate complex health policy matters, Ruthie’s objective has always been to use her expertise, strategic mindset, and determination to ensure her team is successful when it matters most.

Ruthie joined PSC to lead strategy for its health and human services work and to grow the impact PSC has on behalf of its clients. She will use her vast network and decades of experience to develop strategic, high-impact policy solutions with clients.

After a brief “I’m gonna be on Broadway!” move to Manhattan, Ruthie returned to Michigan (a Yooper always comes home) and began her career in healthcare insurance customer service, which sparked her passion for improving access, navigability, and quality for patients. She then spent 17 years at the Michigan Health & Hospital Association, where, over the years, she led communications, Affordable Care Act analysis and implementation, vaccines, workforce, and business development and strategy, in addition to her work on numerous policy issues. She most recently served as senior vice president and chief strategy officer before joining PSC in July 2025.
